Do you struggle with family friendly meals?

Getting a healthy, home-cooked evening meal on the table each day can be a challenge for many, sometimes getting ANY meal on the table after a long day is –  in itself – overwhelming at times!!  I get it and I’ve been there.  Nowadays, with my training as a nutritional therapist, I value the nutritional power of home cooked meals over heavily processed, modified ‘Frankenfood’ and want to help you to see the wonderful benefits of it too. We are all so busy and stressed that it’s no wonder we are cutting corners everywhere and are relying...

Happy New Year Everyone! Hope you all had a fun and restful Christmas. I’m slowly getting back into work mode, reflecting on 2016 and thinking about my plans for 2017.  Some highlights of the last year for me were training with Prof Bill Walsh http://www.walshinstitute.org/on Advanced Nutrient Therapy for depression, anxiety, behaviour disorders and ADHD, speaking at Drogheda’s first Mental and Physical Health and Wellbeing Seminar in aid of SOSAD, attending Ireland’s first Functional Medicine Conference which was such an...

I spoke about the types of foods that we should be eating less of and those that we should be eating more of.  We had a great old discussion on marketing tricks and techniques that food manufacturing companies use to try get you to buy their products and how you might help improve the diet of the fussiest of eaters. Sosad Physical and Mental Wellbeing Seminar

Last Saturday was a truly inspiring and uplifting day for Drogheda.  Counsellor and psychotherapist Bairbre Kelly organised this event to increase public awareness on the link between our physical health and our mental wellbeing. It featured the lovely Niall Breslin who is of course doing wonderful things as a campaigner for mental health issues aswell as myself, The Bare Food Company, Andrew Hageman and Bairbre. I had known parts of Bressie’s story but I must admit I was blown away by how moving his story really is and about how...

The Lowdown on IBS

The symptoms include the following and can range from mildly annoying to completely...

Posted by on 1:58 pm in Top Tips | 1 comment

Just can’t lose weight and keep it off?  Plagued by persistent bloating and poor energy levels?  Quirky bowels? A night out with friends for a meal and you can’t do up your clothes the next day?  A food sensitivity could be the reason. First of all, let’s clear up the difference between a food allergy and a food intolerance/sensitivity. A food allergy is a rapid reaction (from just a few minutes to a couple of hours) to a food that could be potentially life-threatening.
